As you drive toward the wooden bridge, past the emerald moss covered stones and through the private gated entrance, you will enter a magical 10 acre paradise hidden within central Nanaimo.
With woods, waterfalls, ponds and beautiful lush green gardens in every direction, you will feel transported to a world you could only imagine as the setting for your unique and personal wedding day or event.

The Blue Heron Estate has countless exquisite backdrops for your forever photos. You'll find vine drenched arbours, 2 gazebos, wooden bridges, a gorgeous pond complete with waterfalls and fountains and many enclaves of trees and gardens to help showcase your special day.

For those who choose a special entrance to your ceremony or event you can pass under one of our vine covered arbours, cross this quaint arched "bridge to forever", emerging from the canopy of trees into the open as you walk towards the cobblestone aisle that leads to the larger of the 2 gazebos, perfect for grand romantic entrances and saying "I do".
One of the main considerations for outdoor weddings and events is the availability of flat ground for tents and dance floors and easy access for set up and deliveries. The Blue Heron Estate offers both in a variety of locations and sizes. There is ample parking and electricity to the event locations. We also provide the option of having a lovely large room with a deck for the wedding party to prepare in. There is a lovely AirBNB and so may magical details that will have your guests inspired and awe struck!
The other consideration is the weather. Blue Heron Estate offers a large gazebo to accommodate an entire wedding party should there be rain on your special day (said by most to be a good luck sign) There is also a beautiful (and flat!) cobblestone aisle to prevent those in heels from sinking into the grass. We have a beautiful large Hexagon party tent and chairs and atbles. There are lovely spacious fully plumbed bathrooms which eliminate the need for porta potties.
